Day two was as good as yesterday. There seems to be no end to the tangents. I should mention that these are all out of context, which is part of what makes them so interesting.
“God has a better life for you than you can manage. If you don’t trust Him for it, you will not get it.”
“The mark of a believer is what we do when we are not doing well. What we often do is go back to what we know.”
“Suffering is the lens through which people see the character of our souls.”
[Regarding his PhD in philosophy] … “I’ve worked with the theory of knowing, and concluded that you can’t know. My colleagues agree. They just won’t acquiesce.”
“When I preach, I am trying to put a category into people’s minds called Christ. And if the Spirit would bless it, to make it beautiful to them, it will influence their affections. People will choose what they like.”
“If your goal is success you are a fool. You will be forced to live in myopia and delusion all your life. The goal is not success. The goal is a Person.”
“He who keeps his hand clutched will never live life.”
“Don’t judge another’s world by the prejudices of your world.”
“Heretics make us answer questions that, given our laziness, we would not answer naturally.”
“We tend to take refuge in knowledge rather than relationship.”
“Good people do bad things for good reasons.”
